Cornerstone combines the ease-of-use of a spreadsheet with the power of analysis software to provide a rich and complete environment for exploratory data analysis.

Desktop Data Analysis Software
Cornerstone is an exploratory data analysis software package that provides you with a fast, easy way to explore your data, analyze relationships, and find answers you can act upon immediately. Cornerstone, which runs on Windows and UNIX, makes the job of analyzing complex data faster and more clearcut. It provides an easy to use, and versatility user interface; data access and statistical analysis, along with powerful visualization capabilities. A complete software environment, Cornerstone now features an Experimental Design module that makes design of experiments easier and faster to perform.

Access Your Data at any Location
With Cornerstone, you can access data over your network wherever it is located, without leaving your desk. Cornerstone's Data Navigator provides direct, transparent access to data stored in remote data sources including Ingres, ORACLE, Sybase, Informix, SAS data sets, RS/1 tables, spreadsheets and ASCII files. In addition, Cornerstone on Windows supports ODBC. This eliminates the need for costly, time-consuming data interface and conversion programs.

View Your Data from Every Angle
Cornerstone presents information in a familiar spreadsheet-like format with a consistent user interface. It also provides a variety of graphical representations of the data. These include xy line and scatterplots, boxplots, histograms, bargraphs, interval plots, xyz scatterplots, graph matrices, and 3D surface and contourplots. All views of the data-tabular and graphical-are interactive and dynamically linked. You can see multiple views of the data at one time, which makes it easy for you to see relationships between data. When the data changes, all views are updated simultaneously. To highlight selected points in a graph, you simply point-and-click with the brushing tool. This data will be highlighted in all related graphs and datasets at the same time, for separate further study, exclusion, etc.

While Cornerstone enables you to export the results of your analyses to other graphics and desktop publishing packages, a wide range of tools to enhance your graphs are built into the product. In most cases, you can perform data analyses and create presentation-quality graphics without leaving Cornerstone. Cornerstone allows you to sift and sort through large amounts of data quickly, with the help of easy-to-use applied statistical tools. You can analyze relationships among groups of data, test hunches, and build predictive models to ensure that the decisions you make are based on accurate information. You can use Cornerstone's Experimental Design module to perform designed experiments quickly and easily. Cornerstone also makes it easy for you to perform SPC and multivariate analysis.

You can use Cornerstone's dataset editor to manipulate, sort and organize your data. The dataset editor makes it easy for you to choose the data you want to work with and how you want to work with it.

Automate Analysis Routines for Re-use with Workmap
As you work, Cornerstone's Workmap automatically records each step in your analysis process.
If you want to apply the same analysis to a subset of your data or another dataset, there is no need to reinvent the process. Cornerstone saves all of the analysis steps, subsets and presentation styles that you have in your Workmap.
The Workmap displays your dataset, graphs and analysis objects in graphical form as connected icons or lists them by name or by type. If you must interrupt your analysis, you can pick up exactly where you left off, simply by clicking the corresponding Workmap icon or item.
Cornerstone also provides on-line, context-sensitive help, including a definition, explanation or interpretation using graphical examples.
